The month of May is a special month of celebration for me. This year I celebrate the 20-year anniversary of living in the amazing United States of America. I am infinitely grateful for the possibilities and for how my life path unfolded.
May 1. 1998 I started a new life in Pittsburgh. Please enjoy 10 highlights of the past 20 years:
1.) Upon my arrival I quickly built a successful holistic medicine business and started my career at UPMC’s Center for Complementary Medicine where I offered Holistic Reflexology & Meditation. In addition, I taught meditation at Highmark and other corporate sites.
2.) Some of my famous Holistic Reflexology clients include Michael Douglas and Robert Downey Jr. whom I saw regularly while they filmed Wonderboys in Pittsburgh in 1999, as well as the movie’s director Curtis Hanson.
3.) May 2000 I ran and completed the Pittsburgh Marathon. I figured it would a good idea to start the new millennia with a worthy challenge and something I hadn’t done before. 4.) I had the great pleasure to massage local television celebrity Eleanor Shano’s feet on live TV, as she interviewed me to learn about the positive benefits of Holistic Reflexology.
5.) In celebration of my 40. birthday I embarked on an epic solo motorcycle adventure across the US in 2006. I traveled 7430 miles in 6 weeks, walked countless labyrinths and met the most amazing people. Please view the Roadtrip Pictures.
6.) The next 6 years I wrote the award-winning autobiography Girls Don’t Ride Motorbikes – A Spiritual Adventure Into Life’s Labyrinth, chronicling my modern day pilgrimage and solo motorcycle adventure. On this journey I also recount poetic life stories spanning my youth on a dairy farm in Germany, a 10-week solo-backpacking trip in Brazil and the turmoil of living in Tel Aviv.
7.) 2008 I created the first hospital-affiliated Labyrinth in Western PA for the Cameron Wellness Center in Washington, PA, which belongs to Washington Hospital.
8.) I became an American Citizen in 2010. It’s a true privilege and I am very grateful every day.
9.) 2012 I translated my Holistic Reflexology class material from Hebrew to English and I am now the only teacher in the State of PA offering a 300-hour Holistic Reflexology Certification Program. As of today the Brauer Institute is proud to announce 14 graduates who practice Holistic Reflexology in the Greater Pittsburgh Area and in Europe. A new group of students will graduate April 2019. The enrollment for the 2019/2020 Certification Program is open.

10.) I am very honored and grateful to be the 2016 recipient of the Immigrant Entrepreneur Award from Global Pittsburgh in recognition of my achievements and enriching the Pittsburgh region with my talent and tenacity since my arrival in 1998.

What is next?
1.) Expanding my Art Portfolio and Art Career: Currently I am in the process of expanding my art career in addition to continuing my thriving Holistic Medicine Business, in order to truly live all my talents and passions and to bring more light, happiness and color into this world.
Prior to my studies at the Mahut College for Complementary Medicine and Holism in Tel Aviv, I graduated from the Avni Art Institute in Tel Aviv – Jaffo, Israel. My paintings have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Israel, Germany and the US.
